Our specialty is capturing love in the most sincere, romantic, and illuminated moment.
Yes, We can conquer anything you desire with the exception of newborn.
Yes! I will always have someone on scene that will be my GO-TO assistant / shooter. They most likely wont be able to yell as loud as me during family portraits, but they can do everything else!
Simply put, Lighting is the most important element in any photograph. During the day, we use natural light and reflectors to modify what God gave us. For the reception, we setup a three-light setup that provides excellent back light and glow to all dances, toast, etc. A lot of effort is put forth in this setup. We don’t solely use flashes due to a couple reasons. They can be very distracting. We don’t run around using a flash during the ceremony. Therefore, we treat you with the same respect during the initial dances. Also, flashes fill light only INSIDE the camera. The lights we use allow everyone to have a more intimate moment!
Generally, No. Our passion is portraying a story with the art of photography. We invest a lot of time, money, skill, endurance, and effort in capturing and creating images for your Wedding day. It only makes sense to cover the couples who desire full and unlimited coverage. This enables us to really embrace and seize the day. The last thing we want is anyone feeling rushed, stressed, or sending an additional invoice after the big day! Shop around. This is a big win by choosing us!
While Micah Riley Photography is based out of Columbus GA., we serve clients 60+/- miles with no additional fees or charges. Having a Wedding in Jamaica? Fly us out and we will cover the rest!
Yes. Just know, you want all vendors to work collaboratively and not competitively. The ones mentioned above are professional, yield excellent films, and are non-obtrusive. The last thing you want is a battle for shot, or vivid frustration of who is whose way! We have experienced that!
We eliminate test shots, duplicate images, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions, and other images that may alter the overall product delivery. With our expertise of processing thousands of images each year, we may eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates. This doesn’t mean if you are missing a shot with Uncle Ben from the family portrait session, we won’t attempt to back and look for it!
The images can be viewed from a private online gallery that you can share with family and friends. You are able to download images from the gallery if you desire. You will also receive a pretty cased USB portable 16gb drive. This drive will have the Print Release on it.
Yes we do. Every single image we deliver is post produced with our unique signature style of editing. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, straightening, clarity adjustments, and other corrections.
My style is YOU! Scrolling through my galleries and albums will give you an idea of how my imagery and creativity are expressed. We could use adjectives that might possibly enhance your perception, but the proof is in the puddin’! Ultimately, every couple and every wedding is different. Our responsibility is to adapt and shoot the way that will best portray your true selves. Pretentious or absolute buck-wild, we can handle it!
Absolutely! It is easy to post 20 images that look fantastic on social media or a web site, but it’s a different story seeing an entire collection of imagery. Seeing a full wedding will give you a better idea of our style as well. Contact me for a password to a protected gallery.
All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and deposit of $700. This transaction is made in person. The contract and receipt are immediately sent out after this during our meeting. Nice and easy! We meet every couple we shoot. This makes sure we are jelly and jam, instead of sand and a bathing suit bottom!
We require $700 up front and the remainder of the balance on the day of. If it strikes 12am and you are happily lit, strolling under sparklers, to the getaway car. We will ride along and enjoy the honeymoon until we get the remaining balance!
Generally no, but this is taken on a case by case basis. The reason for canceling and our availability is taken into account.
None of our images will have a watermark on them. We place our information in the meta-data of all images “seen in the digital background”. We do appreciate when couples give us credit, but ultimately the images are all yours!
The average wedding for us often will exceed 5,000 frames. After going through each one, we usually end up with 400-1000 edited images. This doesn’t mean only 1 out 5 shots are good, it simply means we pick the best frame within each set. It may take 50 frames to catch one with everyone’s eye open during a large family photo! Don’t worry I can shoot 9 frames per second.
No. We use an average 250gb of data per wedding. These are shot in a raw “non-jpeg” format. Meaning, you can’t simply import the images to any computer and view them. They have to be processed and are quite large files! Trust me, you don’t want the head ache!
Generally, we arrive 1.5hrs prior to make-up and hair being finished. This allows us time to shoot all details and setup our lighting for the reception. We catch the tail end of make-up application, unless you declare you must have those out of bed-head shots. We leave when YOU do!
Micah Riley is always your primary master photographer. It is hard to believe there are companies out there that send in contracted shooters for weddings!
Take a chill pill because we got you on this one! We sit down and create a custom schedule with you. It may take 150 texts, 8 phone calls, and a meeting, but we do all we can to help you out on this task. Along with a schedule, we also submit a family portrait template list, vendor contact form, and “wedding hack” checklist. This is all custom built by yours truly. It is also easily modified and shared online.
We typically deliver anywhere from 50-70 images per 2-hour engagement shoot. These are all processed and edited.
We throw a FREE Engagement session in when booking us for a wedding. Therefore, if you aren’t interested in the session, there is no trade out, price cut, or compensation.
Post production for engagement sessions are completed within one week after the session. This allows you to get those save the dates out asap
You can typically expect to receive your album 4 weeks after placing the order. The process prior to placing the order varies in duration depending on how quickly you respond to the instructions for the album design as well as the amount of changes you request after the initial designs.
We ask you to pick your top 80 images. From there, an album is designed and uploaded to a shared portal we both can communicate through. We have used Kiss Albums the past 4 years and have great results! Here is a link: https://www.kiss.us/
Product creation times vary, however, print orders will generally be completed within 6 weeks after the product order is submitted.
You have the right to reprint images whenever you want. You are simply not allowed to “profit” from any image.
There is a $200 replacement charge for an additional drive after the event has been archived. We strongly suggest you make at least one copy of the drive when you receive it from us.
In most cases, you can print your photos up to 24×36 without any loss of quality. Want to go 3x4ft? Not an issue either. We can up-res free of charge.
Yes. Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance. So before hiring anyone, make sure they are covered.
Yes. We run a Raid 1 setup with an additional offsite drive online. Meaning we have 3 total backups of all data. Every camera we use (minus film) has an internal backup as well. The day we lose data, is the day we quit doing business. It is that simple.
Yes I do! We stand in line once a year to renew it. Ever been to the DMV? It’s just as much fun!
